Welcome to the Boundary Planning Project Website for Teays Valley Local Schools. This site will serve as the source for all information related to the process.
In the spring of 2016, TVLSD began a boundary change process to better balance utilization at all of its elementary schools. Due to a vast amount of community feedback, the process was put on hold so that a more comprehensive process could take place in the fall of 2016 for implementation starting for the 2017-18 school year. DeJONG-RICHTER, an educational planning firm was contracted to facilitate this process.
Redistricting Plan 2017-2018
(may take time to load)
This process kicked-off at the August 15th School Board meeting with a presentation as well as an invitation for steering committee members.
The steering committee was composed of parent and community members and proportionally represented the community. The purpose of the process was to create the best boundary plan for ALL TVLSD students, therefore having a diverse and balanced committee was crucial.
The committee evaluated background material and developed several options for the community at large to view and provide feedback. The committee then evaluated the results of the community feedback and developed a recommendation to the Superintendent. The Board of Education unanimously voted to adopt the recommendation and the new boundaries for the 2017-2018 school year.
